Motivation
You can get great test scores on your English tests and even graduate from an American university but if you have a foreign accent then your friends and especially your employer will not give you the recognition you deserve for all your hard work learning English as a Second Language. We are here to make you sound like a native speaker. Our website takes all the sounds in English and contrasts them with a similar sound so you, the ESL student, can first learn to hear the sound that is not in your native language and second it puts both of the sounds/words in one sentence that you can listen to and practice saying until you can clearly pronounce them. This process of accent reduction takes time listening and listening again. Only after you can tell the differences of the sounds then you will be able to begin to say the sound and correct yourself when you mispronounce it. We are always adding new subtitles to our videos so that you don't need to stop the video and look up the meanings of the words. If you have a suggestion or have had a positive experience using the lessons then please let us know by clicking on the Contact Us button at the top right of this page.
Learn to hear and pronounce the "a" sound of Bag and the "i" sound of Big.
Listen to each video 3 or more times then record your voice saying the sentence in video that contrasts the two sounds. Listen to your voice carefully to see if you are clearly making both of the individual sounds. Repeat this process listen, speak and check quality of pronunciation until you are speaking clearly.
